I am just using a template from blogger. I want to get tabs on my blog but I am so bad at html and codes and such and no one can explain it so that I understand it. I have a three column blog with one column on either side of the main one with my posts, which is just the layout I chose from blogger. I am having issues with the size of videos though because when I put a book trailer in my post they are too big and overflow into the column on the right side of my blog.
I like the colors of your blog. Kinda reminds me of cotton candy. haha.
Check out Amanda's site. She goes into pretty good detail how to make a background, add differnt fonts, and make a header.

I have a theme going for my blog (horror novels), so I used a template from Blogger that fit my theme. I mostly went for layout since you can customize everything else fairly simply. Personally, I prefer a basic look to one that's more cluttered or elaborate. That way, I'm not spending time making sure everything's right, and my readers know where the focus is. But everything's all about personal choice. What you feel most comfortable with!
